Phantom pictures exist between reality and the memory
of the testimonial or witness. The memory of the testimonial and his description are hardly objective. The result of the image is a collage of different layers such as:

Remarkable signs, real remains, superficial impressions,
unconscious fiction of the witness, computer calculated imagination
and the hands/head of the composer.

Phantom pictures are pictures of persons without proper [proved] identity.
Phantom pictures are created throughout descriptions of presumed testimonials.
Phantom pictures are reconstructed faces of unknown identities.
Phantom pictures are constructed with the help of computers to rebuild
[reconstruct] the imagined and calculated face of a not identifiable dead person.

The atmosphere of the phantom pictures is cold, dead, threatening and often horrifying:
Phantoms often appear like simple drawings, sketches,
just the reference [history] to a missing or [crime] suspected
person attaches them their scary, character [appearance]

It is a collage of:

different significances
different observations
different impressions
different levels of consciousness
