Detective John Norton (Luigi Pistilli), famous for his tragic past as well as for his affection for the ladies sneaks in the case through the front door opened widely by the joyful daughter of the house (Dagmar Lassander). But not to everybody’s delight, appearantly.

What for young Leo begins (Dominic Guard) as some adventurous summer months at the stately residence of his sophisticated classmate Marcus (Richard Gibson) collapses eventually into a complete disaster for everybody. Hypnotised by the charme and magic of Marcus’ sister Marian (Julie Christie), Leo devotionally offers himself, his heart and his feet to let her taste the forbidden fruit, called Ted Burgess (Alan Bates). Far too soon black and heavy clouds darken the sky of the secret triangle to never enlighten again.

The never resolved case of a kidnapped and later killed girl Stefania Moroni (Lara Wendel) warms up again, when one day private investigator Paradisi is found decapitated by a digger at a building pit close to the tragic location. A tough case for Inspector Luca Peretti (George Clinton), as his witnesses – as usually – get killed one after the other and the only clue seems to be hidden somewhere at or around the crime scene. But where?
